This epic dreamscape has been created to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity in the viewer. Following the theme of Parasomnia, the composition emphasizes the idea that not everything is what it seems. Capturing the feeling of time and space by combining a series of objects that are representational in meaning. With a nod to Salvador Dali, who inspired the world through his works based on the subconscious mind. This composition illustrates an illusion of time and space, crossing the line between what is possible and impossible.
Key Elements
Perceived in the image is a silhouette of a human figure walking upon a road that seems to be disappearing behind the rocks. Elements of the past and present and our possible future are combined with the very literal interpretation of time (a clock melting into the rocks). Thus, representing the idea of parasomnia, dreams and the element of time.
Hidden Elements
While blending modes were used to create varying effects such as the whale emerging from the stars and the dinosaur skeleton evolving from the sand. Small dodging and burning effects were also added to create: shadows of the rings of Saturn on the sand dunes below, shadows under the dinosaur skeleton and the faintest shadow of the whale overhead.
A fun fact about this image is that alongside these very bright and large elements there are also three hidden camels, can you spot them? This is a fun trick that allows the artist to intrigue the viewer to take a closer look at the image. Evoking the thought that nothing is as it seems.
